This is what we woke up to Sunday morning. Instant winter.
Roads went from perfect to "holy shit I'm sideways" over night. And of course every body with 4WD and AWD forgot that it only helps with accelerating and turning, not braking. It was... interesting around here on Sunday.

Well, now you can have your ice fishing and curling while you drink your crown maple, eh?

we're getting our storm tonight...which is interesting since my cruiser is running in rwd/no abs mode right now. I can still lock the rear diff though, so if its snows enough to accumulate its going to be good times in the parking lots.

I was dealt the same luck with the over night snow.

Man, I'm in Alaska and this time last year we already had a foot of snow. We don't have any snow at all! I'm ready for it! I want the snow! Gah!

Just add (frozen) water?

Saskatchewanian here - we've got about 4-5 inches on the ground from Sunday night's meteorological festivities. It certainly made getting home interesting, although the people leaving the Dixie Chicks concert were certain to have a shitty time driving back to the Battlefords.

Going North from Saskatoon to the Battlefords, in the dark, in the snow is a trip I've made too often. It's bleak out there in those conditions. Worse, is going South from the Battlefords down to Wilkie, in those conditions. Night, snow, wind, nothing around for miles...

Instant as in, Friday was +10 degrees C, sunny and dry. Sunday morning we had accumulated 30 cm of snow in under 24 hours. Instant winter.

Yup, it's fun enough with Mother Nature poking your car sideways, but not being able to tell where the road is because it looks like you're warping to another universe?
Wheee!
